Sharks Love To Be Petted - They're Like Dogs
“Love” and “affection” are terms not commonly used to describe encounters with large sharks, but they’re used repeatedly by Jim Abernethy to narrate his recent get-together with a large tiger shark known as Tarantino. The special reunion at Tiger Beach in the Bahamas was videotaped and footage shows Tarantino swimming into the arms of Abernethy, and seeming to crave his caresses much like an affectionate dog craves those of its owner after a prolonged absence. As Abernethy and the shark are swept down current, he returns to the camera and Tarantino follows, again swimming into his arms. This happens twice in the footage.
“I could tell she had missed it,” Abernethy says of an apex predator he refers to as an “old friend.”
To be sure, Tiger Beach is a special place, known as a destination where close encounters can be enjoyed in what many consider to be a relatively safe environment.
The predators are fed during commercial dive operations, and many distinctive sharks have been given names.
Veteran divers such as Abernethy, who runs Jim Abernethy’s Scuba Adventures, claim to have developed special relationships with some of those sharks.
Though there are bound to be critics of people “tempting fate” with such close interactions, Abernethy, who was once bitten by a lemon shark, was hoping his footage would send a message.
“I wish there was some way that I could get the world to see what these beautiful creatures are really like,” he says, “so we could end the needless slaughter and keep our oceans healthy, not only for them but for our own existence on the planet.”

Pete the Monkey washing dishes
Meet Pete the (capuchin) Monkey. Pete was not trained to do this. The film was made in a monkey sanctuary in Bolivia where I was volunteering, and I was just lucky enough to have a camera on me when he started copying exactly what I had been doing (I wasn't so lucky later on when Pete took my camera and started eating it)!
To support more monkeys like Pete we launched a festival in 2012, on the French coast of Normandy. The festival runs annually every July, with all proceeds going to support the monkey sanctuary where Pete lives.

Dog versus Deer ORIGINAL
OUR DOG BUDDY WRESTLES AND PLAYS BALL WITH OUR BABY WHITE TAIL DEER My brother found this deer alone and malnourished when it was a tiny baby. My family bottle fed the baby, named Theen until he was eating grass. Several months later he's very socialized with people, our black lab, and our cats. He is free to wander if he likes and we've seen him with several herds of whitetail and axis deer. Apparently he fits in just fine with them. He frequently comes back to the house to eat some catfood and play with our dog, Buddy. He doesn't care much for deer corn.

KOMMUNIKATION/OMSORG - Cygnet rescue - Simon beaten up by an angry swan
Swans are very protective parents. The male swan, called the ‘cob’, can be very aggressive in order to protect his young.
Earlier this year, Simon went out to rescue a cygnet that was stuck in a fence, near the River Thames. He had to face a very angry cob that wouldn't let anybody near his poor baby.

The rat showering like a human isn't a rat!! Check this out!
Milne News: Last week, a video of what looked like a rat showering like a human in Peru went viral. after the emergence of the video, Media outlets such as Newsweek and Gizmodo reported that the animal was actually a pacarana, a different type of brown rodent from South America, and it was in fact trying to "get rid of the soap." After the action was called out by some people for being harmful to the animal, Chile's Minister for Energy responded by saying its human-like actions are a "normal that movement they do, plus that shampoo they put is for pets."
